Our work on microcavity-based optomechanics got published in Optics Express. Congrats to the team, a wonderful and essential collaboration between experiment and theory.

Our work shows that we get optomechanical effects beyond “canonical optomechanics” in a cavity optomechanical systems that confines light to micron-scale length with the help of a photonic crystal mirror and DBR. Have a read here.

Today Karim joined us for his 1 year Master thesis, which he will perform at our maglev experiment. We wish you all the best and look forward to research together with you.

We welcome Alexander Jung who joins our optomechanics team. Alexander did his Master thesis at the Walther-Meissner-Institute in Garching, Germany and will now do his PhD with us.
