Paper published in Optics Express

Our work on microcavity-based optomechanics got published in Optics Express. Congrats to the team, a wonderful and essential collaboration between experiment and theory.

Our work shows that we get optomechanical effects beyond “canonical optomechanics” in a cavity optomechanical systems that confines light to micron-scale length with the help of a photonic crystal mirror and DBR. Have a read here.

Welcome Karim!

Today Karim joined us for his 1 year Master thesis, which he will perform at our maglev experiment. We wish you all the best and look forward to research together with you.

Welcome Alexander!

We welcome Alexander Jung who joins our optomechanics team. Alexander did his Master thesis at the Walther-Meissner-Institute in Garching, Germany and will now do his PhD with us. His goal is to increase the optomechanical coupling strength and at the same time reduce the optical lossses. towards single photon strong coupling …
A warm welcome!

We offer the following Master thesis projects in our lab during 2023/2024:

If you are interested, please get in contact with us.

Welcome Lauren

We welcome Lauren as a new Master thesis student in our lab. Lauren will join our research activities focused on cavity optomechanics and high-Q crystalline materials for nanomechanics.
